The Edge of the World
By Chris Devine
I walk these streets of empty faces,
too many blank walls, empty spaces,
Hidden walks, forbidden places, darkened worlds time erases,
But you and I, we've left it all, taken our final fall,
And we stand here with our hearts unfurled,
At the edge of the world
At the edge of the world
I talk of life, I talk of times, empty thoughts, forgotten crimes,
While wanting hearts stand in line, we rush by, marking time,
And all this time I've wanted you, was what we saw and wondered
true?
A thousand thousand questions hurled,
From the edge of the world
From the edge of the world
Can we wonder together, or do we wonder alone?
Will you wander with me through the great unknown,
At the edge of the world?
At the edge of the world?
At the edge of the world?
At the edge of the world?
Time runs down, time replaces,
Tender thoughts, time erases,
And now we sit in falling places,
The marks of time on our faces
At the end of the world
At the end of the world
At the end of the world
At the end of the world
I walk these streets of empty faces,
too many blank walls, empty spaces,
Hidden walks, forbidden places, darkened worlds time erases,
But you and I, we've left it all, taken our final fall,
And we stand here with our hearts unfurled,
At the edge of the world
