How I Spent My Time
By Chris Devine
Remember me tomorrow,
Tomorrow when I'm gone.
I don't care for your sorrow,
And I want life to go on.
But tell them all you knew me,
And think about me sometimes.
Try to see me in the faces you see,
And remember all my crimes.
I'm not saying I was good,
Nor that I want worship.
I just wanted to be understood
As I leave on my longest trip.
And I don't want to be hearing the violins,
On my way up that lonely road,
I just want to know that you cared about me,
Enough to hear my song.
Remember me tomorrow,
When I am only dust,
And always, always try to grow,
And from me learn to trust.
And I don't want to be hearing the violins,
On my way up that lonely road,
I just want to know that you cared about me,
Enough to hear my song.
Remember me tomorrow,
And think about me sometimes.
I just wanted to be understood
For how I spent my time here.
Remember me tomorrow,
Tomorrow when I'm gone. |
