Erik Matthew Hendel

Erik has had the great fortune of being surrounded by music and encouraged to learn and perform music since he can remember. In addition to singing in a boys choir in elementary school and playing in the school band from the fifth grade on (starting with clarinet and, in high school, adding trombone), Erik has played guitar and bass and sang with a number of bands in his hometown of Youngstown, Ohio since the early nineties. Most notably, his more than 5 year involvement as guitarist with the band Raul took him to the stages of many clubs throughout Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania, and once even to the legendary CBGB in New York.

In 2003 he moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and after a short time of solo songwriting and recording, the path of his musical career merged with Haiku Rd.
